The 5500 Series uses a 3/4 inch insulating glass unit with ProSolar Low-E glass, argon gas, and an Intercept spacer system. This build targets lower heat transfer and better year-round comfort.

For higher performance, the line offers an optional triple-pane build. Simonton describes three panes of double strength glass that create two separate air spaces for optimal thermal performance and interior comfort.

Simonton positions the 5500 Series at the top of Energy Star recognition for select builds. This rating identifies the best-performing certified windows.

Select 5500 window styles with optional triple-pane glass are recognized as Most Efficient by Energy Star in 2025. That designation marks products offering the highest energy efficiency in the program.
